COURSE INFORMATION

Ever thought you’d like to work in one of the construction trades and would like the opportunity to give it a go? Then this course is designed for you!

It’s a pre-apprenticeship taster course to teach the basic skills and knowledge required to gain employment as a carpenter or plumber or electrician or roofer or …

This hands-on practical work course will provide the opportunity to construct a purpose-designed building from beginning to end, and to learn skills across the range of the construction trades.

Not sure which trade to enter? Then this course provides the chance to try them all before you commit to one of them.

A focus of this course will be training you to be a worker. It will be your future employer’s job to fully train you to be a qualified builder or plumber or electrician or ...

QUALIFICATIONS

No formal qualifications are offered. The emphasis will be achieving practical work skills.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

Course participants will have the opportunity to experience training in all aspects of the building construction industry, including

• Carpentry
• Drainlaying
• Plumbing
• Electrical work
• Plastering
• Roofing
• Landscaping

WHERE TO FROM HERE?

On successful completion of the course , we will assist you to secure full-time employment in one of the construction trades, hopefully with an apprenticeship

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

This is a 20 week, full time ( 7 – 4.30 pm ) course running from 2008 – Dates to be confirmed

Selection will be based on

• a high level of motivation
• a demonstrated interest in employment in one of the construction trades
