Course Information

Develop technical and administrative skills that can contribute to improving performance and productivity. You will learn how to perform financial calculations, process data, produce information for business purposes, communicate effectively with stakeholders and work co-operatively within a team to achieve objectives. Other areas covered include selecting and applying customer service techniques, applying effective problem solving, decision making, ethical behaviour and self management.

On successful completion of the course students will receive:

  • Microsoft Word formatting skills to intermediate level

  • Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint

  • Improve your typing speed

  • Produce business documents

  • MYOB accounting software

  • Deal with financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable

  • Customer service and communication skills

  • Minute-taking for meetings

Entry Requirements

NCEA Level 1 (including Literacy 10 credits and Numeracy 10 credits at Level 1) OR an equivalent academic achievement.
