Programme Details

This 8 week programme is highly practical in all aspects of security operations with a focus on providing higher-level career and employment opportunities using the latest equipment and teaching methods. On successful completion of all Assessments graduates will receive a Security Licence - full green COA (Certificate of Achievement) and will enable you to seek employment with a wide variety of Security Companies.

Course Content

This course is highly practical in all aspects of security operations and includes training in:

  • Personal and Professional Standards
  • Operational Communication
  • Emergency Response Procedures
  • Legal Authority/Criminal Law
  • First Aid
  • Patrol Techniques
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Report Writing
  • Conflict Management/Role Plays

On successful completion of this course you will obtain:

  • Certificate of Achievement in Security NZQA 27360, 27361 and 27364
  • 5 NZQA unit standards towards a National Certificate in Security Level 2
  • Workplace First Aid Certificate
  • Initial BLUE Security Licence followed by a full GREEN Security Licence after the completion and passing of the 3 NZQA Qualifications  (COA is issued by the Ministry of Justice) 

Entry Requirements

  • MUST be able to obtain a Certificate of Approval i.e. no criminal convictions within the last 7 years or having ever been sentenced to a term of imprisonment.
  • MUST be interested in a career in this industry
  • MUST be 18 years or older and on a main benefit for 12 months or more
  • MUST be available to work part time/casual/full time
  • MUST have photo Identification
  • MUST be suitable for and able to commit to this opportunity that provides security 24/7
  • MUST be motivated, with a good attitude and show a willingness to seek and move into employment
