Horowhenua Learning Centre (HLC) requires highly motivated people for the following positions:

  • Youth Tutor

    HLC Youth Guarantee programmes are about improving the transition from school to further study, work or training for our learners.

    FULL TIME POSITION - Based in Levin

    We are seeking a motivated youth tutor for our NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills Levels 1 and 2 programmes of study.

    You will be delivering a range of foundational skills and competencies that pathway the youth of Horowhenua into higher education or employment. 

    You will use your relationship building skills and provide appropriate support to engage these young people, acknowledging their individual interests, cultural perspectives and background.

    This is a challenging yet highly rewarding position for an individual who strives to have a positive impact on students’ achievement.

    Applicants must have:

    • Experience and/or understanding of working with Youth

    • Effective communication skills

    • Strong motivational and team building skills

    • Full current driver’s licence

    It would also be an advantage to have:

    • An understanding of NZQA framework, unit standard delivery and industry based training

    • An adult teaching qualification

    HLC has successfully delivered this industry-respected programme for many years and the new tutor will have full resourcing, including professional development and support to be successful.

Tourism Tutor

We are looking for a highly motivated industry-experienced person to deliver the New Zealand Certificate in Tourism (Level 3) qualification. A one-semester course of study with the potential to grow into a full time position.

CONTRACTOR POSITION - Based in KAPITI

HLC (Horowhenua Learning Centre) require a highly motivated industry-experienced person to deliver the New Zealand Certificate in Tourism (Level 3) qualification.

Applicants must have:

  • Experience and/or understanding across a broad range of tourism and/or travel sector skills.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Strong motivational and team building skills

  • Full clean driver’s licence

It would also be an advantage to have:

  • An understanding of NZQA framework, unit standard delivery and industry based training

  • An adult teaching qualification

PART TIME POSITION - Based in KAPITI

HLC (Horowhenua Learning Centre) require a highly motivated industry-experienced person to deliver the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (advanced support) (Level 4) qualification.

Applicants must have:

  • Experience as a practitioner in the Health Sector

  • Effective communication skills

  • Strong motivational and team building skills

  • Full clean driver’s licence

It would also be an advantage to have:

  • An understanding of NZQA framework, unit standard delivery and industry based training

  • An adult teaching qualification
